*This recipe has appeared in more than one church cookbook that my grandmother owned when I was growing up. And since my grandmother knew of my addiction for collecting recipes, she purchased me a cookbook from the church I grew up in in 2009 and mailed it to me as a Christmas present. In the front of the cookbook are tributes/memorials to three of my family members that have passed on since 2000, including my grandfather...or the man I called my dad. In the back of the cookbook was this recipe.*

RECIPE FOR A HAPPY MARRIAGE
3 cups love
2 cups warmth
1 cup forgiveness
1 cup friends
4 Tablespoons hope
2 Tablespoons tenderness
1 pint faith
1 barrel laughter
Combine love and warmth. Mix thoroughly with tenderness. Add forgiveness and blend with friends and hope. Sprinkle all remaining tenderness. Stir faith and laughter. Bake with sunshine and serve daily in generous helpings.
