Recipe: Rum Sauce, Rum Hard Sauce

Rum Sauce

Beat 4 eggs well and add 2 c powdered sugar and 1 tsp vanilla. then hastily add 1/2 c melted butter. beat thoroughly and cook in double boiler until it thickens. add run to taste. this may be cooked and store in refrigerator. than reheat to serve - in which case add run just before serving.


Rum Hard Sauce

1/2 c butter or margarine
1 c powdered sugar
2 tbsp rum

in 1 1/2 quart bowl, microwave butter at 10% power (low) for 1 1/2 min or til softened. beat in powdered sugar with electric mixer on high speed till fluffy. beat in rum. store in refrigerator. serve at room temperature.

This was with a plum pudding recipe so should work with a bread pudding.
