Dear Sandra,

How about Houston's Tortilla Soup which is alsolutely AWESOME!!
Houston's Tortilla Soup

1 large onion
1/4 cup chopped garlic
1/4 cup olive oil
1/4 cup butter
4 quarts chicken stock
1/4 cup chicken base
1 cup Masa flour
12oz. ground tortilla
1-1/2 Tbls. chili powder
1/2 Tbls. pepper
1-1/2 Tbls. cumin
4 cups cubed cooked chicken
1/4 cups fresh Cilantro

Melt butter in soup pot. Add olive oil, onion and garlic. Cook till onions are clarified. Mix flour, tortillas and spices together and add to onions. Slowly add stock and chicken base, blending until smooth. Bring to a boil, stirring constantly until thick. Add chicken and cilantro. Salt and pepper to taste. Garnish each serving with avacado, monterey jack and cheddar cheese and tortillas.
