SAUCY CHICKEN DRUMSTICKS AND THIGHS
(Cooks in crock pot 1 hour on high then 4-5 hours on low.)
"After simmering in a well-seasoned sauce, this chicken is fall-off-the-bone tender. Serve chicken and sauce over rice or egg noodles."
6 chicken drumsticks (about 1 1/2 pounds), skinned
6 chicken thighs (about 1 1/2 pounds), skinned
1 (14 1/2 ounce) can diced tomatoes with roasted garlic, undrained
1 (6 ounce) can tomato paste
1/4 cup dried onion flakes
2 teaspoons chicken-flavored bouillon granules
1 teaspoon dried Italian seasoning
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
1/2 teaspoon crushed red pepper
FOR SERVING (OPTIONAL):
Hot cooked rice or egg noodles
Place chicken in a 4-quart electric slow cooker.
Combine tomatoes and remaining 6 ingredients, stir well. Pour over chicken.
Cover with lid, cook on high-heat setting 1 hour.
Reduce to low-heat setting. Continue to cook, covered, for 4 to 5 hours or until chicken is tender.
If desired, serve over rice or egg noodles.
Makes 6 servings (serving size: 1 drumstick, 1 thigh, and 3/4 cup sauce)
