This is a bit of an unusual sounding recipe, but it is amazingly good.
Skillet Supper
1 lb ground beef
3 stalks celery
2 large onions
2 or 3 potatoes
2 cups shredded cabbage
salt to taste
1/2 cup water
2 T Soy Sauce
In large iron skillet, brown beef, stirring frequently. Arrange vegetables in layers in order given starting with the celery cut in small chunks. Slice the onions thinly and cut the potatoes as you would for french fries and lastly, add the cabbage. I usually season each layer with a bit of seasoned salt and pepper. Add water and Soy Sauce and cover tightly. My frying pan also has an iron lid which works perfectly. Simmer about 15 or 20 min until the veggies are tender. Delicious!
