CrockPot Sloppy Joe's
6-8 servings
1 c. chopped red or green bell pepper
1 c. chopped sweet onion
12oz. bottle chili sauce
1/2 t. Chili Puree with Garlic (China Bowl brand)
1 can 1 1/2 oz. Diced Tomato with Gartlic and Onion
3 garlic cloves, minced
1/2 t. salt
3 T. worcestershire
1/4 c. water
2 lbs. ground sirloin
burger buns
Mix all ingredients in crockpot, cover and for 4-6 hours.
I added 2 T. flour mixed with 1/4 c. water to thicken up
at the very end.
This also is good served over tortilla chips.

Sloppy Joes
1 lb lean ground beef
1/4 C finely diced onion
1 clove minced garlic
1/4 C ketchup
2 tsp pure ground mild red chile powder
1 tsp prepared mustard (yellow ballpark variety)
1 tsp worcestershire sauce
1/2 tsp celery salt
1/4 tsp liquid smoke (optional)
Fry hamburger, onion, garlic. Drain well. Add rest of the ingredients & simmer until flavors blend.

1. "Sloppy Joes"
From my Rival Crock-ette cookbook:
1 pound ground chuck or hamburger
1/4 cup onion, finely chopped
1/4 cup green pepper, finely chopped
1 8-ounce can tomato sauce
1 6-ounce can tomato paste
*2 tbsp. sloppy joe seasoning mix
salt to taste
Brown ground meat, rinse well and drain. Place in crockette. Add remaining ingredients. Stir
thoroughly. Cover and cook 8-12 hours.*I swear by Pennzey's mail order spices (or in your
community)
2. "Sloppy Joes A LaBobby"
From a magazine clipping (unknown)
3 lbs. ground beef
1 cup chopped onion
2 cloves garlic, minced
1-1/2 cup ketcup
1 cup chopped green pepper
1/2 cup water
4 tbsp. brown sugar
4 tbsp. prepared mustard
4 tbsp. vinegar
4 tbsp. worcestire sauce
3 tsp. chili powder
hamburger buns
In a large skilled brown ground beef, onion and garlic. Cook until meat is brown and onion is tender.
Drain off fat. In any size crock-pot, combine ketsup, green pepper, water, brown sugar, mustard,
vinegar, worchestire sauce and chili powder. Stir in meat mixture. Cover and cook on low 6-8 hours or
high 3-4 hours. Spoon onto hamburger buns. Serves 8-10.
Variation: Substitute ground turkey, chicken or pork for ground beef.

Barbecue Pork
Medium Pork Roast - Boil or roast until tender, dice
small
1 lb of ground round, browned and drained
1 small bottle of ketchup, approximately 28 oz or so :)
1 pint of tomatoes (I pureed them)
3 teaspoons of brown sugar
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon black pepper
3 teaspoons of chili powder
1 teaspoon oregano
1 large green pepper diced
1 large sweet onion diced
Mix all together, simmer 1/2 hour
Butter and grill buns or rolls or eat on toast
Serve with mustard, grated cheddar cheese, fresh
chopped onion - so good!
I froze some in freezer bags for lazy days and
unexpected company. Enjoy!

Here's 2 recipes for you. The first one takes more time
and is cheesy. The second one is one that my
husband makes and calls BBQs. They're both really
good.
Cheesy Sloppy Joes
1# ground meat
1 stalk celery, chopped
1 tblsp dried minced onion
1 tsp oregano
1/2 cup chopped green peppers
1 can condensed tomato soup
1/4# velveeta, cut in chunks
Brown and drain meat. Add vegetables and spices.
Cook until vegetables are soft. Add soup and cheese.
Heat until cheese is completely melted. Stir often.
Serve in hot dog rolls or on Italian bread.

Roger's BBQs
ground beef
onion, chopped
ketchup
mustard
worcestershire sauce
Brown ground beef. Drain. Add chopped onion to taste.
Cook until soft. Add ketchup until the mixture looks
pretty wet. Add mustard and worcestershire sauce to
taste. Heat completely. Serve on hot dog or hamburger
rolls.

Sloppy Joes
Heat in skillet
2 tablespoons butter
add and saute
1/2 cup minced onions
1/2 cup chopped celery
1/2 cup chopped green peppers, seeds and
membranes removed
When these are limp, add:
1 1/2 lb ground beef
Cook and stir until meat is lightly browned. Add:
1/2 cup chopped mushrooms
4 tablespoons chili sauce
1/2 cup water
Season to taste
Simmer uncovered over low heat about 15 minutes until
thickened enough to spoon onto buns.
