Recipe: Sloppy Joes

Misc.

Schilling makes a packet of seasonings which you add to a pound of hamburger with an 8 oz. can of tomato sauce. If you want to make it from scratch, here's a recipe from Mr. Food:Sloppy Joes

Serves: 6 to 82 to 2 1/2 pounds ground beef
1 medium onion, chopped
1 medium green bell pepper, chopped
2 cans (15 ounces each) tomato sauce
2 tablespoons light or dark brown sugar
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon black pepper
8 sandwich or hamburger buns, split

In a large skillet, brown the ground beef, onion, and green pepper over medium-high heat for 7 to 9 minutes; drain off the excess liquid. Add the remaining ingredients except the buns; mix well. Reduce the heat to low and simmer for 8 to 10 minutes, stirring occasionally. Serve on the buns.
