Recipe(tried): Southern Classic Pecan Pie

Desserts - Pies and Tarts
I was going through my Holiday recipes and came across this recipe for Pecan Pie..make this one for Thanksgiving and Christmas. So I thought I would share... And in the South we have a lot of pecan trees.

SOUTHERN CLASSIC PECAN PIE

1 cup Karo corn syrup-light or dark
1 cup sugar
3 eggs, slightly beaten
2 tablespoons butter or margarine, melted
2 teaspoons vanilla
1/8 teaspoon salt
1 1/2 cups pecan halves
1-unbaked (9 inch or deep dish) pie shell (make your own or use frozen), does better in a deep dish, that is what I use.

Mix all ingredients together and put in pecans last.

Preheat oven to 350 degrees and bake for 50 or 55 minutes or until center sets.

This is good with homemade whipped cream or cool-whip.

Enjoy!
