Southern Pecan Bourbon Pie

3 large eggs
1/2 cup (125 mL) firmly-packed brown sugar
1 cup (250 mL) dark corn syrup
1 cup (250 mL) chopped pecans
3 tbsp (45 mL) bourbon
2 tbsp (30 mL) Golden Crisco Shortening, melted
1/4 tsp (1 mL) salt
1 9 in. single crust1. For crust, prepare Crisco Single Crust (see recipe). Do not bake. Heat oven to 350 F. 2. For filling, beat eggs in large bowl at medium speed of electric mixer. Beat in brown sugar. Stir in corn syrup, nuts, bourbon, Golden Crisco Shortening and salt. Pour into unbaked pie crust.
3. Bake at 350 F (180 C) for 40 to 50 minutes, or until centre is set. Cover edge with foil, if necessary, to prevent overbrowning. Cool to room temperature before serving. Refrigerate leftover pie.Makes: One 9-inch (23 cm) pie
