Recipe: Southwest Taco Pie (using ground beef, cornmeal, Bisquick, Tupperware recipe)

1 lb. lean ground beef
1/3 cup chopped onion
1 (1 1/2 oz.) taco seasoning mix
1 1/2 cups shredded Monterey Jack cheese
1 (4 oz.) can chopped green chilies, drained
1/2 cup buttermilk baking mix
1/2 cup yellow cornmeal
3 eggs (may use egg substitute)
1 cup milk
4 or 5 drops hot-pepper sauce (optional)
Sliced pitted black olives, sliced jalapeno peppers or chopped fresh parsley (for garnish)
Preheat oven to 400 degrees F.
Place crumbled hamburger and onion in 2 qt. casserole, microwave for 4-6 minutes, stirring once or twice. Drain well.
Stir in taco seasoning and spread mixture evenly into casserole. Sprinkle with cheese and chilies.
Put baking mix and cornmeal in a mixing bowl. Add eggs, milk and hot-pepper sauce. Beat until smooth. Mixture will be thin. Pour over beef mixture.
Bake for 25-30 minutes at 400 degrees F until top is browned and knife inserted in center of topping comes out clean. Let stand 5-10 minutes before serving. Garnish with olives and parsley.
