Deborah - Jen,FL's recipe sounds like a great idea. I will toss in a couple more for your consideration.
Beef Brisket, London Broil or Flank Steak
Put meat in crock pot. Add a small diced onion, and two stalks of celery and 3-4 cloves of chopped garlic. Pour one can of beer over top. Pour one jar of chili sauce over top. Cook on low for 6 to 8 hours or until tender. Can also be done in the oven, covered tightly with foil, at 325 degrees for 5 - 7 hours.

Sunday Brisket
1 Cup firmly packed dark brown sugar
1 Bottle Heinz Chili Sauce
1 Envelope Lipton Dry Onion Soup Mix
1 Cup Ketchup
1 Bottle Good Quality Beer
1 (3-4 lb.) Brisket
Preheat oven to 325. Trim all fat from brisket. Season with salt, pepper, and garlic powder.
Mix the first four ingredients together. Add the beer.
Place brisket in heavy duty aluminum foil bag or encase in aluminum foil. Cover with the sauce mix and close the aluminum foil bag tightly and place in a Dutch oven or roasting pan.
Bake at 325 for 3-1/2 hours or until meat is falling apart. Remove from oven and allow to cool slightly. Carefully open bag and shred or cut beef into pieces. Return back into the oven for an additional 30 minutes. At this point, you can add halved potatoes and/or carrots and cook until tender.
