Recipe(tried): Transporting a Cake

Tips and Tricks - Cooking
Barb, yes, use thick cardboard. Then you can cover it with foil. But be sure to put a doily on top of the foil. If you cannot find a large doily, use more than one and spread them around where the cake bottom will be placed. You can use little portions of cake icing just like glue to hold the doily (or doilies) down. A glaze on top of a pound cake will make it look pretty. And, of course, plastic wrap will hold the moisture in the cake and allow it to be seen--will also make the ones doing the cake walk really want YOUR cake! Hope it goes well!
