Hi Lilia,
Here are some things to try:
- Unplug the machine for a few minutes then plug it back in.
- Be sure your kneading paddle is in place in the bottom of the pan.
- Remove the pan from the machine and reinsert it - being sure you turn it to lock into the bottom of the machine. The pan need to be locked into the bottom correctly for the machine to run.
- Check for other settings on your machine that you may have to push before it will start (light or dark crust, mode, type of loaf, etc.)
- Try pushing another setting just to see if it works (you can always unplug it to stop the cycle)
Other possible causes:
- Depending on your machine, it may take a few minutes before starting to warm up the ingredients.
- If you just finished making a loaf in the machine and it stopped working it could be because you usually need to wait after using the machine to cool down before using again.
If the bread machine still doesn't work:
You can save your ingredients by making your bread by hand. Pour the ingredients into a mixing bowl. Combine the mixture, then place the dough on a lightly floured surface and knead by hand about 10 minutes. Place in a lightly greased bowl at least double it's size. Cover and put in a warm place to rise until double.
Punch down and shape into a loaf and place in a greased loaf pan (large enought for the dough to double in size) or on a greased baking sheet. Or, shape into rolls and place on a greased baking sheet or in a greased baking pan. Cover and let rise again, until almost double.
Bake in preheated 350 degree oven until done (time will vary depending on whether you're baking rolls or a loaf and the size of the loaf - you can check a similar size bread or roll recipe if you want exact times).
I hope that's a help!
Happy Baking,
Betsy
