Recipe: White Sugar Cookies

Desserts - Cookies, Brownies, Bars
White Sugar Cookies
rec.food.cooking/busybee (1999)

1 cup white sugar
1 cup Crisco (vegetable shortening)
1 egg
1/2 tsp. salt
1 tsp. soda
2 cups flour

Mix well. Roll in small balls and dip in sugar. Bake 350 degrees for 10-13 minutes until cracked. DO NOT OVERBAKE if you like them soft and chewy.

Let the cookies cool slightly before trying to remove them from the cookie sheet because they will crumble easily.
