ISO: 3 layer lemon bar

Several eons ago, I made lemon bars in my high school cooking class that had three layers. The first two were the usual, but instead of the powdered sugar, there was one more step that left something like an icing on top. I had to leave my recipes behind about 10 years ago (long story, not relevant), and have never been able to find one similar.
