ISO: About rice pudding

I have a rice pudding recipe but it doesn't seem to come out right. My
mother-in-law made the best, but she died suddenly and we can't find her recipe.
It was one of my husbands favorite, and as good of a cook as I am, this one
seems like brain surgery for some reason. I was wondering if it
makes a difference if you use 2% milk as opposed to whole milk.
