FROZEN FRUIT SALAD (AKA CHAMPAGNE DESSERT)
1 (8 oz.) pkg. cream cheese, softened
3/4 cup sugar
1 (16-20 oz.) can crushed pineapple or pineapple tidbits/chunks, drained
1 (10 oz.) pkg. frozen strawberries with juice, thawed (may be crushed strawberries)
2 bananas sliced or finely diced
1 (12 oz.) container Cool Whip, thawed
1/2 cup chopped nuts (optional)
Beat cream cheese and sugar until fluffy. Set aside.
In large bowl, mix fruit together. Fold cream cheese into fruit mixture. Fold in Cool Whip and nuts (nuts maybe reserved for top instead of mixed in).
Freeze in 13x9-inch pan, a loaf pan, or pretty bowl (also may be frozen in paper cupcake liners). Take out about 1/2 hour before serving. Recipe can be doubled for a large group or party.
