ISO: Beef Roll-Ups (Rouladen?)

Misc.
Years ago when my husband was stationed at Fort Stewart, Georgia, German women returning with American husbands would take beef slices, brush them with mustard, put in a piece of pickle and roll them up, saute them and serve with a sauce. My question is: what cut of beef, what type of mustard and what type of pickle to use? Other things were rolled in the bundles but I forget what (?). Also, I've seen Knorr's Hunter's Sauce mix in the imported foods isle -- is that the sauce to use? I would appreciate authentic products to use for the correct taste!
