ISO: Can I make salsa with frozen tomatoes

Misc.
Can I freeze my fresh tomatoes and later use them for salsa? Should I measure the tomatoes first or after they thaw - and are the measurements the same?

Also, will the frozen tomatoes loose their taste?

Thank you.
