ISO: Canning Apple Pie Filling

Misc.
I tried using this recipe and it really worked so easy...the only problem after it process I noticed later that there was to much space on the bottom..I took one jar and wanted to see how it would come out. I have 9 inch pans there was not enough apples for the pie...I wanted to find out what is the best way to fill the jars with the apples...would it be easier to fill with apples then the filling doing like layers...I want to have as many apples as I can get in the jar so the pie would be much fuller. I had plan on giving these away for the holidays..my hair dresser don't cook so this should work great for her...but would like to have more apples in the jars..I hope you can help me
