ISO: Chocolate Mousse Cake
Misc.I am desperately seeking a copy of a recipe for a Chocolate Mousse Cake that was in Southern Living magazine at least 10-15 years ago. I've seen other requests for a similarly-named dessert, but this one was extremely dense (almost cheesecakey, so I don't know why it was called a "mousse" cake). It had an unusual crust made from chocolate and breadcrumbs, which gave it a more crunchy texture than a graham cracker crust would have. Finally, it was topped with whipped cream, and cocoa powder was sifted through a doily to form an elegant design on top. My mother cut the recipe out of her magazine so she could save it with her clippings, but when we went to get it, only the page with the photo was there! Much wailing and gnashing of teeth ensued.
I would really like to fix this again for my family this Christmas, so if anyone recognizes this, please help!
Thanks,
Pam : )
