ISO: crouton

Need help with a basic simple recipe for baking croutons. We cut day old bread into squares, season with garlic, grated parm chz, and parsley flakes and bake. Problem is that spices never adhere to the baked crouton, instead quickly wind up on the bottom of the crouton bucket, and we wind up serving a plain dry baked bread square instead of a flavored crouton. HELP!
