ISO: Date Filled Cookies

My great grandmother made my favorite cookies - date filled. I haven't tasted anything like them since she died 12 years ago, and unfortunately do I do not have her recipe. They did not have oatmeal in them, as many of today's recipes do. They were drop cookies. If anyone has any good recipes for me to try, please let me know. Thanks!
