ISO: drop cookie, buttermilk in recipe, topped with cherry pie filling

my mother in law used to make this recipe evry christmas. it was a soft dough, with buttermilk in it. the dough was dropped on the cookie sheet, then a spoon of chery pie filling was placed on top, then another dab of the dough before it was baked. i'd really appreciate if anyone could share this recipe with me.
