ISO: Great Custard Pie Please!

Misc.

My Father - In - Law remembers a terrific custard Pie ...(melt - in your mouth type) from his childhood days. Although memories are sometimes better than true life, I would like to try to re create this memory for him. Can anyone help? I had also heard that you should bake the custard out of the pie shell then slip it into the shell when it comes out of the oven. Any comments/ Thanks! Carole
