ISO: Ham Gravy

Could anyone give me a recipe that uses the drippings from a baked ham to make
gravy with. I've tried unsuccessfully. I had this at a Christmas party once
and all the hostess told me is that she uses the drippings and the water from
the mashed potatoes. My thanks to anyone who can help.
