ISO: HELP! Can I sub non-fat half and half for heavy cream?

I plan to make Potatoes Au Gratin and the recipe calls for heavy cream I would like to substitute non-fat half and half for the heavy cream. Will this work or will it curdle in the oven? Thanks for any help!
