ISO: Holiday Date Bars - 1960's - '70's

I am looking for a recipe that was published in a Harrisburg, PA newspaper during the winter holiday months sometime between 1968 and 1975. That's the most that my mom remembers. She used to make these and I haven't tasted anything that compares since. She lost the recipe many years ago and I have not been able to find it. Since I live out of state, I cannot go to the newspaper site and search. The recipe was called "Holiday Date Bars" and from what I remember, powdered sugar was sprinkled on top.
