ISO: Italian Cabbage, Potato, & Pasta dish

Misc.

A few weeks ago I watched a PBS Italian Cooking show (not C'iao Italia)and watched a man make an Italian peasant dish, interspursed with video clips of his mother making the same dish in her Italian kitchen. It used boiled cabbage chunks, potato cubes, and fresh whole-wheat pasta which was then mixed with a cheese (Fontina?) and served. Can anyone help me with this?
