ISO: make ahead mashed potatoes

Misc.
So how do you do it? Do you add extra butter and milk so they stay moist? Do you just put them in the fridge and then reheat? Would be nice to make them and just put them in the oven an hour before dinner or something.

How can you do it without them tasting like leftovers?

I heard people use a crock pot?

Suggestions on how to do it?
