ISO: Need Help with menu & recipe for Bridesmaid Luncheon

Misc.
Hi everyone, I am needing help in planning a bridesmaid luncheon in my home in late Sept. It has been years since I have been to a bridesmaid luncheon and never hosted one. This is for our daughter's best friend. She is having 6 bridesmaids, so I am guessing, I will have around 14-15 ladies, when mom's and grandmom's are included. I will use my good china, crystal, sterling etc. I have a dining room that will seat 8, but my breakfast area table is in the kitchen and hate to seat people, where all the food is. It just seems so messy! I thought about setting up cards tables, with nice linens, in our family room. I think I could get 4 tables in the there alright.
Now I need some help with the menu! I want it to be nice, but some of the girls are picky eaters. I need to be able to prepare most of it in advance, so I can just serve the plates where they are seated. Or do you think it would be better to do a buffet on the dining table and seat at the card tables all in one room. Somehow, I just think it is nicer to serve the plates to those already seated.
I have thought about a good chicken salad, with the grapes and nuts, nice fruit salad. I don't really know. I don't have a good chicken salad recipe. I need a good dessert too!
I would greatly appreciate any suggestions for menu's, recipes etc.
May have wine or champagne. Help, Help Help, this young lady is so special. I really want to make this a nice party!!
Also, several of these girls toured together singing back in high school. I thought it might be fun to try and have some type of sing a long, but got any suggestions for that? I gave our daughter our piano last year, so I have no way for music.
Please put your thinking caps on and help me out.I am open for any and everything!
Thanks a million!
