ISO: New to Asian Cooking-help?

Misc.
Hi Experts :)

My mom (bless her heart) bought me some beautiful Japanese dishes from Crate and Barrel. They include a Sushi serving block, Beautiful square plates, rice/soup bowls, soup spoons, chop sticks, stick *rests* and sauce dishes.

I would like to try to do an authentic Japanese dinner. I have a few Asian cookbooks but what I am looking for are tried and true EASY recipes for my first attempt.

Any recipes you could provide would be wonderful!

Thanks,

Marguerite
