ISO: Nut Bars (using pecans and 1 lb brown sugar)

My mother's best friend had given me a recipe for Nut Bars which used pecans and an ENTIRE box of brown sugar. They were very dense and delicious. I lost the recipe, and the dear lady died years ago. Does anyone have a similar recipe? I would love to make it again. It would remind me of her!
