ISO: Pat Trillo re: Peanut Butter Bars

Misc.
Hi again, Pat :-) You know I thought quite a lot about that recipe and the one I once had, had both brown (or maybe light brown) sugar and white sugar in it, I think. I also think that it didn't have any baking powder or soda in it. You mentioned brownies and my favorite recipe for them, from the back of the Hershey's unsweetened chocolate box does not have any baking powder or soda in it either. They are nice and dense and chewy. I haven't tried anything lately but the closest I came, sadly, was using a package of peanut butter cookie mix which I mixed and spread in a 9 X 13-inch pan. I thought that I would try using a peanut butter cookie recipe and trying the same thing from scratch but I haven't gotten that far yet - I guess because my girls and I are the ones that like peanut butter cookies and they are not here. DH only seems to like chocolate chip cookies. Since neither one of us need cookies, I just haven't tried making them.. I should because if they did turn out, I could take them to share at my school and then maybe I'd have something to report to you. Meanwhile, we will both continue to search for this wonderful recipe. Honestly, I considered calling the school in Oregon where I taught to see if I could get the recipe from them but feel a little funny about doing that. Besides, the recipe would probably make 50 dozen, lol! Good luck to both of us :-) !!
