ISO: Pecan Pumpkin Pie Recipe
Misc.In the late 60's, early 70's, my sister-in-law used to make a recipe called "pecan pumpkin pie." It was your basic pumpkin pie (made with Eagle Brand Sweetened Condensed Milk) that was baked almost to completion and then you then added the layer of pecans halves on top. It was a family favorite for the holidays. I seem to recall that it was on the sweetened condensed milk or pumpkin can but when I contacted both manufacturers, they said they didn't have it and admitted that it was pretty old for their archives. I'd love to be able to make it again -when my brother and sister-in-law divorced, he got custody of the children (as good as this pie was, he definitely got the better part of the bargain) and she took off with her recipe. Still, even his kids remember the recipe (their little fingers used to pry the pecans off the top and lick off the pumpkin) and I'd love to bring that back into their lives - and ours. Thank you all!!!
