ISO: Preserving Pesto

Hi,

I am a newcomer to making pesto and have been using a low fat recipe that is pretty good, however, I am not a big fan of the piney flavor from the pine nuts. Has anyone tried making pesto with pecans?? I know you can use walnuts, but I always have pecans on hand. Gotta figure out what to do with all this fresh basil!!
