ISO: Rose Cake Recipe

This is a cut in from Aussie. Minch and Glady's Rasmalai (Indian Rose Cake)Recipe.
I went to a cooking class here and made something which sounds a bit similar 'Jarmoons". They had cream and semolina in them. They were fried and then steeped in rose water/sugar syrup.
I would like to try your Rasmalai, but here in Aussie we dont understand things like "half and half". Could someone please tell me what it is. Also a 'stick' of butter (another recipe) means nothing in Australia.
