ISO: skillet fried hoe cake w/flour not cornmeal

Misc.
I was raised in MS in the 50's and my grandy used to make skillet fried HOECAKE w/ flour not cornmeal. Does anyone out there have a recipe for it.. It was served with syrup and bacon. IT WAS THE BEST.
We also had HOT COCOA on those cold mornings. REAL HERSHEY'S COCOA that you made on top of the stove in a pot.
THOSE WERE THE DAYS.

HOE CAKE RECIPE
contains flour
shortening
water salt
fried in oil or shortening

ANYONE OLD SCHOOL COOKERS THAT CAN HELP ME W/ this recipe.
THANKS IN ADVANCE
