ISO: Smothered Pork Chops

I had posted this request on the main board but, upon reconsideration, I figure smothered pork chops are a dish that gets passed from generation to generation. So, how 'bout it, David (or anyone else)? Did Granny Church or Mama have a recipe for this sumptuous meal? It was probably part of the feast prepared on Sunday for dinner after church, right along with the fried chicken, macaroni and cheese, cornbread, a mess o' greens and a choice of sweet potato pie or sour cream pound cake. Oops! I drooled on the keyboard. Hope you folks can help me.
