I couldn't find a Outback recipe on the Internet. Here are recipes she can try and experiment with.

Chopped hard-cooked egg thickens this chunky Thousand Island dressing.

1 1/2 cups mayonnaise or salad dressing
1/4 cup chili sauce
1 hard-cooked egg, chopped
1 tablespoon finely chopped onion
1 tablespoon pickle relish

In a mixing bowl, combine all of the ingredients.

Cover and refrigerate. Serve as a dressing over greens and other fresh vegetables or serve as a dipper. Makes 2 cups.

Make-Ahead Tip:
Prepare as directed. Cover and refrigerate for up to 1 week.

REAL THOUSAND ISLAND DRESSING
Source: Seattle Times
Makes 2 3/4 cups

2 hard-cooked eggs, very finely chopped
1/3 cup chopped black olives
3 tablespoons fresh lemon juice
1 1/2 cups mayonnaise
1/2 cup tomato-based chili sauce, such as Heinz
1/4 teaspoon black pepper
1/2 teaspoon Tabasco (more or less to taste)
1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
1/3 cup sweet pickle relish
1 tablespoon grated white onion

Mix ingredients together well. Dressing can be stored in the refrigerator up to 1 week.

Chef's note:
Classic uses of Thousand Island dressing include Crab or Shrimp Louis and the again-hip retro "wedge" of iceberg lettuce salads. You can also use it instead of Russian dressing on Reuben sandwiches.

Makes about 1 1/4 cups

This recipe works best when vegetables are chopped in a food processor to make them very fine.

1 cup mayonnaise
2 teaspoons horseradish sauce
2 tablespoons vinegar
2 tablespoons sugar
2 teaspoons finely chopped green bell pepper (see note)
2 tablespoons finely chopped pickles (see note)
2 teaspoons finely chopped celery (see note)
2 teaspoons finely chopped onion (see note)
3 tablespoons ketchup
1/2 teaspoon paprika
1 hard cooked egg, chopped

Mix all ingredients until well combined. Cover and refrigerate.

KRAFT THOUSAND ISLAND DRESSING
Makes about 3/4 cup

1/2 cup mayonnaise
2 tablespoons ketchup
1 tablespoon white vinegar
2 teaspoons sugar
2 teaspoons sweet pickle relish
1 teaspoon finely minced white onion
1/8 teaspoon salt
dash of black pepper

Combine all of the ingredients in a small bowl. Stir well. Place dressing in a covered container and refrigerate for several hours, stirring occasionally, so that the sugar dissolves and the flavors blend.
