ISO: sweet potato, sausage and apple casserole (40's recipe)

this recipe was popular in the '40s in California. It was wonderful as I remember. I have not been able to find anything with these ingred. I remember thin sliced apples, then yam slices and finally sausage rounds on top. I have tried but cannot get it right. Please help.
