ISO: Wanted Recipe for Old German filled cookie
Misc.My German Grandmother gave my Mother a recipe for a German filled cookie 60 years ago. The dough is a yeast dough made with soured milk and the filling is ground walnuts and raisins mixed with whipped egg whites. The dough is rolled in small 3" X 3" squares and filled with filling and than rolled over and the ends are crimped. When they came out of the oven they were rolled in granulated sugar. She called them "Kiffles". We always said she would take this recipe to her grave and she did that 4 weeks ago! I would love to have this recipe if anyone can help. Thanks!
