ISO: white sauce for pasta - no jar stuff

Misc.

I know of a terrific Italian place that serves a garlic white sauce over shell noodles that is the best ever. They won't give me the recipe and I can't stomach the jar sauces. Does anyone have a good recipe for something like this? It's not really alfredo because it's not as thick and chalky. I tried a recipe that called for half and half, cream cheese and parm. cheese. Not bad, but got really sticky when it cooled down. Thanks for the help!
