ISO: Zeibackers Toast Casserole

Misc.

My mother used to cook a casserole made of tomatoes, sugar, and Zeibackers Toast, (baby toast) [sorry for the misspelling] every Sunday after church.

My mother was the type of cook that never needed measured her ingredients. She would just pour the ingredients in a bowl and mix according to the size of the bowl and cook. Presto a perfect casserole, cake, pie, etc. would have appeared. Since she was a great cook she never felt the need to write her recipes down.

Since she has died some time ago I can't ask her for the recipe, so I asked all my family members how to cook this lovely dish. But they could not remember.

But they did say they remember my mother getting it of the back of the Nabisco box of toast.

I asked Nabisco for some help but they could not find any recipe. I guest their data files for recipes must not go back that far... over 38 year ago.

Just thinking about the casserole reminds me of my childhood, when life was easier. I greatly appreicate any help finding this recipe.

Sincerely,

Vivian
