I had been wondering about the liquid that might be needed by throwing in the pkg. of instant pudding - I think you're right about the can of crushed pineapple being used for that. I think that this recipe is the closest to what she was telling me, so I'll start with this one and add the pudding mix and pineapple, and of course the vanilla wafers. And I do know that some of the bananas were mashed but not all of them - so this really comes very close and I thank you so much!
