Recipe(tried): Toffee (with pecans and chocolate)

TOFFEE

1 cup chopped pecans
3/4 cup packed brown sugar
1/2 cup margarine or butter
1/2 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips

Butter a square pan (9x9x2-inch). Spread pecans in the pan.

In a 1 quart saucepan, heat sugar and margarine to boiling, over medium heat, boil for 7 minutes, stirring constantly.

Immediately spread mixture over pecans in pan. Sprinkle chocolate chips over the hot mixture. Place a cookie sheet over the top of the pan until the chocolate chips have melted. Spread melted chocolate over the candy. Cut into 1 1/2-inch squares while hot.

Refrigerate until firm.
