SPICED APPLESAUCE CAKE
"A hearty moist cake you don't have to frost."
3 cups unsifted flour
1 (16 oz) jar applesauce
1 cup sugar
1 cup Hellmann's or Best Foods Real Mayonnaise
1/2 cup milk
2 teaspoons baking soda
2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
1 teaspoon vanilla
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg
1 cup chopped walnuts
1/2 cup raisins
ice cream or whipped topping (for serving)
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Grease and flour 13x9x2-inch baking pan.
In large bowl with mixer at low speed beat first 10 ingredients just until blended. Increase speed to medium; beat 2 minutes. Stir in walnuts and raisins. Pour into prepared pan.
Bake in 350 degree F oven 30 to 35 minutes or until cake tester inserted in center comes out clean. Cool slightly in pan.
Serve warm with ice cream or whipped topping.
Makes 12 servings
