js YOW, thanks for taking the time to reply..I also found help in "Food Lover's Companion", indicating most flour is pre-sifted and need only be stirred and spooned out for a recipe. I screwed up the dough anyway-in my inimitable style ! But tasted ok...tks again, jbc
