50th Wedding Anniversary Ideas

Make sure to get a corsage and a boutonniere for the couple. The hit of the
party I had for my parents was the display I made of their wedding pictures and
honeymoon pictures, plus other pictures. If the orginal wedding dress, a top
for the cake(like figurines, or whatever), etc. still exist these could be
displayed. One of my friends had a video made out of old home movies, slides,
and pictures made for her parents' anniversary. I think that she spent
about $150 on it, having it done professionally by someone who could edit it
and combine the various types of media. One idea is to have the people who are
invited write on a three by five card "advice" to the couple, or reminiscences
of their friendship or whatever. Then you can read some of them. They could
drop these cards into a special container when they come in. A guest book is a
nice touch. We had an open house and served punch and cake. It is really
worth spending extra on the cake to get one that looks and tastes good. We
spent a couple of dollars per slice I think, so the cake cost $200. We had
about 70 people attend. The cake was so much better than what we could have
purchased from a grocery store bakery, and it was made by a lady in her home.
