Chalupa shells

Someone told me that you should fry a thick soft taco shell & it will be just like the chalupa shells.
I haven't tried it yet, but it sounds like it would work.
I haven't yet found an actual recipe for gordita shells, but I have been told to try making soft taco shells, but roll them out thick instead of thin.
